Seminar on Fair Chance Employment in The Arts and Live Events Industries

Second Stage welcomed many key theatre and live events employers to the National Theatre in January for a forum on employing people fairly especially those with convictions. We were welcomed by Kate Varah of National Theatre and the event was opened by Lord James Timpson Minister for Prisons, Probation and Reducing Reoffending and Rosie Brown, Chair of Employment Advisory Boards & Co-CEO of COOK. Speakers included Jo Hutchison (Second Stage), Emily Thomas (Governor HMP Isis), Michael Balogun (Second Stage Ambassador), Bryan Raven (former industry employer) and Nourdean Al-Gharib (employed crew member). Jacob Hill and Rik WIllis of Offploy presented their company and their role in supporting companies to employ people with convictions.
